I have recently just completed my beauty therapy diploma at Seir beauty school as a distance/ online learner. I chose Seir beauty school as I liked the thought of a smaller class, a national and international qualification and also being able to still work full time by choosing the distance learner option. I’ve always loved beauty but especially skin and I knew I wanted to go down the dermal therapy route eventually. After talking with Samantha about what course would be best for me, we went with the beauty therapy diploma as this course opens so many options within the industry. I’m so glad I decided to do beauty therapy as I enjoyed some units more than I thought I would and even though I knew I still wanted to focus on skin, I’m so glad I am trained in other aspects of beauty now. Distance learning is not for everyone as it takes a lot of self study , commitment and putting in your own time but with great support from the educators, I was able to do it. I had to dedicate most Saturdays for a few months as I worked full time in the week and I had to complete my hours for the diploma, the educators at Seir also dedicated their time to me to help me complete this, particularly Katie who went above and beyond to get me there. With the classes being small, I felt there was a lot of support offered to every student. After one month of being qualified from Seir beauty, I have secured my first job within a skin clinic and now training as a skin therapist and I absolutely love it!
